An interesting book that makes you think about topics that may not seem relevant when studying Wicca, but that are actually fundamental。 However, the style of the author made it hard to keep me interested in the reading。 It is okay in the end, but I am more interested in the books mentioned in it than in the actual content。

I have found this book well grounded in matter of fact and clear in its language。 It gives an overall view of Wicca without being superficial。

I must say this book was a good read。 I understand a lot more about Witchcraft and Wicca than before I started reading it。 Certain parts were a lot more interesting for me than others。Highly recommend this book if you want to study witchcraft。

This novel introduces you to the world of witchcraft and Wicca。 It tells you about how Wicca came to be and what past event affected the Wiccan community。 It also explained the different types of Wiccans / witches and was very helpful in explaining what these certain witches study。 This book brings you along a journey into the Wiccan culture。 It teaches you knew terms and words and could give you a more in depth perception of what Wiccans are really like。 It doesn't have a plot exactly, just eve This novel introduces you to the world of witchcraft and Wicca。 It tells you about how Wicca came to be and what past event affected the Wiccan community。 It also explained the different types of Wiccans / witches and was very helpful in explaining what these certain witches study。 This book brings you along a journey into the Wiccan culture。 It teaches you knew terms and words and could give you a more in depth perception of what Wiccans are really like。 It doesn't have a plot exactly, just every new chapter, it starts a new topic (very helpful)。 I also really enjoyed how the gave us different books to read at the end of some chapters and gave us "homework" to go research different events and/or people。 You learn many things in this book and it is very helpful for people just stating in Wiccan culture or older Wiccans looking back to see what that one term was or what that one herb they need to use is called。 This book is a good 3 ½ stars for me。 Not trying to be rude at all, this book is full of knowledge and helpful remarks。 It's just that I'm only a freshman in high school and some of the terms/vocabulary used was highly advanced, even for adults。 They expected us to know certain Wiccan terms before reading the book, (which I didn't) so that made it difficult。 It also just seemed very slow and non-exciting。 I found myself reading the same sentence over and over multiple times and at some points I felt like I wasn't learning anything at all。 You need to be dedicated to read this book。 Like you really want to read it。 Overall it was a good book and I'd recommend it to others interested in new cultures and traditions。 Good book! 。。。more

Amazing study guide for anyone interested in witchcraft or Wicca。 A little outdated (published in 2007), but still full of valuable information and book recommendations。

While this had many great resource book lists, it was pretty light on advanced Wicca。 I would say it is a great resource for those just finishing a 101。

This book wasn't overly informative, more or less a glorified reading list, but I did enjoy it。 And now I have a pretty long list of books to continue with!

I did not like this book at all。 It made me feel like I was dumb。 I know it is suppose to be a guide but it was written like I am 2 years old learning how to walk。 It is not a good bock。 There are so many other books like this that are so much better。

A great book for those looking to expand on their occult studies。 It doesn't go into a lot of depth but the recommended reading lists alone, make this a valuable book for any wiccan collection。 Having gained recent interests in some of the paths included, I am now armed with some quality lists for future reading and study。 Takes the guesswork out of choosing quality books for study。 A great book for those looking to expand on their occult studies。 It doesn't go into a lot of depth but the recommended reading lists alone, make this a valuable book for any wiccan collection。 Having gained recent interests in some of the paths included, I am now armed with some quality lists for future reading and study。 Takes the guesswork out of choosing quality books for study。 。。。more

This book is one of the most concise books I've had to read on Wicca and Witchcraft。 It is wonderfully written, has PLENTY of further reading material, and takes a very down to earth approach to getting the reader into the area of 102 Wicca。 I can honestly say it is my favorite book related to pagan studies and I consider it the keystone that really paved the way for everything else。 (It may have also set an impossibly high standard!) This was a very comprehensive book, I enjoyed reading through it。 I believe the reading list provided with each chapter was not only comprehensive and helpful but it will ensure that I will need to buy another book shelf。

This is a FANTASTIC edition for those in the Craft that are looking for true answers, and not the "shlock" that's out there today。 Comprehensive information in each chapter breaks everything down for you, showing you the ins/outs of different methods and traditions, and points you in the right direction on what books to read and what to avoid。 A "must have" for the serious practictioner! This book is an amazing guide for those looking for more than a Wicca 101 book。 It briefly goes over the history of Neo-Paganism (from ancient Pagans, the Burning Times, to present)。 It also goes over types of divination, how important it is to become involved and choosing a specialty。 All of these topics aren't examined in great detail。 This is more of a study guide then an in depth book。 Each chapter ends in a recommended reading section, and while I don't think it's necessary to read every bo This book is an amazing guide for those looking for more than a Wicca 101 book。 It briefly goes over the history of Neo-Paganism (from ancient Pagans, the Burning Times, to present)。 It also goes over types of divination, how important it is to become involved and choosing a specialty。 All of these topics aren't examined in great detail。 This is more of a study guide then an in depth book。 Each chapter ends in a recommended reading section, and while I don't think it's necessary to read every book she mentions, it IS a lot of work even reading the bare minimum。 There is also homework。 I think that actually makes the book very useful。 It introduces a variety of topics and then says "Here, now go research it" which is an important skill in advanced Wicca。 I felt like the book was an appropriate length, though I felt like some of the topics were a little TOO brief。 I also enjoyed her acknowledgement of the different types of Wicca。 She states that there are three types: Traditional (those who claim lineage from Gerald Gardner), Radical (those involved in political movements such as Starhawk and Z Budapest) and Eclectic (including solitaries)。 I thought that this was an interesting outlook。I was also very surprised that she was Isaac Bonewits ex-wife (who is one of my favourite authors simply because he makes me laugh)。 She also has an interesting writing style and I never found the book dull。Though I enjoyed the book, it's probably not something I will go back and read over and over。 I will use the recommended reading for sure though and that alone made the book worth buying。 I read this in the e-book format so it was only $10- very cheap and definitely worth buying! 。。。more
